Having lived in various period properties over the years, my clients embarked on a new venture with a 1950s bungalow, seeing it as the perfect canvas to blend contemporary open-plan living with some traditional elements. It was essential that the space was brimming with light, tranquility, and botanical charm.

Nestled in the picturesque Corvedale of Shropshire, their home, surrounded by lush gardens, enjoys ample natural light, particularly in their south-facing main bedroom.

To capture the desired country aesthetic, I chose a stunning Botanical Wallpaper as the centerpiece, reflecting the serene surroundings. Drawing from the blue hues in the wallpaper and the sky outside, we painted the ceiling to mirror this palette and opted for a darker shade on the woodwork to anchor the design and introduce a contemporary touch to frame the space.

For a touch of tradition, I selected soft furnishings, including gathered lampshades and delicate ruffle cushions in deeper blue tones, adding layers and depth to the space. A blue throw and an exquisite Indian cabinet completed the scheme, infusing the room with comfort and timeless elegance.
